Week In Review: School Funds, Stolen Tools, Burglary Arrest

Here are some of the stories that made news this past week in Martinez

The Martinez Unified School District will be receiving $204,000 in funds to upgrade schools to help make them more energy efficient. The money is part of $450 million in Prop. 39 funds the state is distributing to school districts across California.

More than $6,000 in tools were stolen from a construction company's shed at Hidden Valley Park.  The thieves broke into the shed sometime between Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning.

Police arrested a burglary suspect about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. A neighbor saw the female suspect trying to break into the home, called police and then followed her until officers arrived.

Diablo Valley College restored services on its WebCT system on Monday afternoon. The online information system had been knocked offline the previous week by a power outage.
