Watch Your Change—Counterfeit Money Found in Martinez

We’ve all watched store clerks carefully check the money we hand them to make sure that it’s not counterfeit. That paid off at the Tower Mart on Howe Road Wednesday morning when someone tried to pay with a fake $50. An officer filed a report on the funny money.
A home on Northridge Road was burglarized. The resident returned home around 11:30 in the morning to discover that a side door had been forced open. Tools and other items were stolen from the garage.

There have been several reports this week of license plates being stolen off vehicles. It’s a good idea to check all of your vehicles, front and back, to make sure that you have your plates.
And finally, it sounds as if someone lost a bet. Police got a call just after midnight about a man sitting in an office chair, in the middle of Westaire Boulevard, quacking at passing cars. He was gone when an officer arrived.
