A rooster attack, grand theft on Hull Lane, and a package stolen from a porch highlight today's reports. And, oh my, read about the houseguest.

Apparently not everyone is delighted by the sound of a rooster crowing at the crack of dawn. At 6 a.m. Tuesday someone called police to report that a woman was beating a rooster with a tree branch. The rooster was last seen crawling under a fence. Animal Control was notified. The rooster attack happened at the Emerson Arms Apartments on Ward Street.

A resident of Hull Lane reported that items had been stolen from the trunk of his car overnight. A custom golf bag and clubs were stolen, along with handmade sterling silver spoons and forks from Cyprus. The total loss was at least $3600.

And finally, is this proof of the ultimate houseguest from hell? A resident of F Street called police to report that a woman who had been staying at a neighbor’s house for the past month was walking around the house rattling doorknobs and trying to open windows to get inside. That was with one hand. In the other hand she was carrying her beer can. Oh, and the call was made at 7:15 in the morning. The good news—she’s not your houseguest.
