I am a little liver chestnut quarter horse appaploosa mix born & bred in Franklin Canyon about six years ago.

I live with my mother, Lettie, and two herd mates, Silhouette, and Jasper.  We eat grass and grain, a product fresh water, sunshine and germs of nature. Wheat rye, oats and barley and wild grass as well, planted by our riders.  We roam free as horses can in Franklin Canyon and enjoy the sound of trains but the freeway is annoying.

We are as lucky as any horses can be, living like real horses should, eating all day, drinking all the fresh water we want and sleeping lying down and standing up as much as we want as well.  We are content and love to be ridden.

An appaloosa waiting for color refers to me not having all the marking of the appaloosa breed.  I have two out of three, white around the irs of my eyes and stripped hoofs but my coat is missing the white blanket on the rump or spots, or the roaning color that my mother has.  Thus I am waiting for color as the saying goes.
