Originally established in 1888, this winery has been owned and operated by the Viano family since 1920 when the family purchased it because it reminded them of their vineyards in Piedmont, Italy. The family also knew the area's fertile soil, cool breezes and warm days would provide perfect conditions for growing wine grapes such as Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, French Columbard, Muscat Canelli, Cabernet Sauvignon, Gamaym, Petite Sirah, Sangiovese and Zinfandel. </p> <p>Natural, cultural practices combined with traditional winemaking techniques are used to create premium fine wines. A cool, comfortable tasting room and picnic area is also provided so that wines may be sampled any day of the week, except Tuesday. All wines may be purchased by the bottle or by the case and are reasonably priced from $4.50 to $17 per bottle.</p>
