And don't forget to keep your pets indoors at night. We don't want coyotes fighting with the family…Read More pet.

Unfortunately the Coyotes got the favorite neighborhood cat. Max was sooo sweet and loving and spent…Read More a lot of time in my backyard. The Coyotes are right behind our fence and there are many. They had babies not that long ago. They still have a right to coexist. We live on Ortega Drive which is by Vine Hill Way and Morello. They got into my neighbors back yard and have been seen running down the street. Franci Lucero 1527 Ortega Drive, Martinez

I read the same thing with other harder drugs. also I read it is because of profiling and other…Read More racial factors, not who uses or sells the most. One example is how crack was dealt with way differently than powdered cocaine, a similar drug, yet crack carried a much stiffer prison sentence. Racial profiling, Black people are pulled over 7 times more often than white drivers according to ThinkProgress.org. So it is logical that 7 times more Black people will be arrested , and 7 times more black people will go to prison than a white person.

If anything, it should be RAISED back to where it was before MADD—a formerly noble…Read More organization, now taken over by prohibitionists—got it lowered from 0.10 to 0.08 for no good reason, based on flimsy studies.
If we're seriously discussing lowering it again by cutting it almost in half, we better start lobbying to outlaw driving while deprived of a full night's rest—lack of sleep causes impairment just as bad, if not much worse, than 0.05 BAC.

I agree Robert. Anything to prevent a single death. I'm an active proponent of outlawing cars…Read More altogether because that would prevent at least one death or disability. Using the same logic, I propose we outlaw school buses, playgrounds, public parks, athletics for under 18 year olds, swimming pools, and solid forms of food.

Martinez facility criminals: Most of them wear uniforms.
Look at the timeline: Detained around 3:00…Read More am. Mentioned heart condition. Docile. Booked 5 hours later . "Cleared medical" (not "refused" as testified to) In restraints, in a cell with a door. 'Tased then punched to "subdue" (no mention of the other abuse inflicted).
Patch: This is a news story. "Punching the Crosswalk"? "'High' Schoolers (sic)"? Suggestion: File the latter under "Cheap Shots And Snark" and follow up the Martinez "News" story. How many more people will be abused by the hands of those who swore to protect and serve (some of them very, very, recently). Where is the 'adult supervision?' At the very least, the "officers" involved here bring shame and guilt-by-association liability to any honorable law enforcement/public servant left in Martinez. Start here: Is this facility used as a training ground for young officers on probation? Check out the age, and length of service of the staff.

I put up three signs for weed eating, out of the way, trying to get some jobs, and what happens? In…Read More one day I was reported and called by the city and forced to take my three little signs down? While others are up no problem. I went to city hall and was told " If someone reports you we have to tell you to take them down or fine you." If not it is ok? " Yes, basiclly" So in short, if you have some determined busy bodies that want to make your life hard, they will report anything you do try to get you in trouble, even for sellign strawberries. I could go on, but it goes right into a whole big mess of BS and double standards.

I was in a car with my friends driving toward down town martinez when we saw and heard sirens behind…Read More us. Driving next to a white truck that was turning left on to the street before allen st. The driver of the GMC sped right past us swerving into the left lane then around the white truck. Skidding back into the right lane in front of us. Then the driver lost control swerving into the parked car after losing a tire. Then crashing into the house. We pulled over at the next block and tons of police cars started showing up at the scene. So glad that we were not harmed in this accident if we were going any faster that 35 mph we would have been history.

Jordan, I'm glad you and your friend are ok. At the speed that car was going, I can understand it…Read More really could have been fatal, especially considering the size of that SUV.
