Eagle Scout puts the peace back into AHS peace circle
Former AHS student Brendan Maher returns to the school to rebuild the peace circle with the help of Boy Scout Troop 184.
Though he left Alhambra High to attend an Oakland high school that specializes in kids with learning disabilities, Brendan Maher still feels a strong connection to AHS and the community in which he was raised. The high school junior -- along with his Eagle Scout troop -- worked diligently last weekend to clean up and rebuild the area flanking the front entrance to AHS.
Maher said he wants to inspire other kids to get out and volunteer in our community. He also got local businesses onboard to help with lunch, plants and building materials. Those donors included , and Ace Hardware.
