'Main Street Matters' Painting Facelift Underway in Martinez

Martinez is one of 20 communities selected across North America in the Benjamin Moore Main Street revitalization project.

Martinez Mayor Rob Schroder will officially celebrate the "Main Street Matters" program today -- Friday -- at 3 p.m. in the Main Street Plaza, along with Benjamin Moore & Co. representative John Lanzillotti.

Martinez was one of 20 cities from the U.S. and Canada selected last year to reap the rewards of the Benjamin Moore campaign to repaint the exteriors of a stretch of downtown businesses.

Benjamin Moore is providing all necessary paint, stain and supplies for façades, porches, railings, shutters and other exterior building trims. Twenty Benjamin Moore colors -- from the Regal Select Exterior collection -- were selected for Martinez’s Main Street.
