A Real Kitchen For Your Weekday Lunch

Scotty discovers a local eatery he loves.

I discovered Connie's Kitchen, this little turn-in-the-road gem on Pacheco Blvd/Pine that has maybe 12 seats total, only recently. Due to having the flu, I wanted some soup and it looked right. A friend had told me about Connie. When there, I read further about her story as framed on the wall, next to customer-specific house mugs that are like twice the size of a coffee cup for regulars for repeat and discounted soups.

A wonderful lady, Connie Collins Luna defeated cancer in literally rare form, and survives to carry on her cooking prowess, making friends along the way easily. I think everything is home cooked. It's real food. No processed stuff.

Her soups - amazing. Pumpkin soup? I wouldn't have thought - it was bomb! And her 'Thanksgiving Turkey' Sandwich is just as it's billed, with real cranberry and stuffing, but not too much - she apparently makes it all the time - such a treat to have places like this.

Being in Martinez you likely already support small business in this small town. It's this kind of substance that defines a town like Martinez. If you haven't, please try Connie's Kitchen as it's a worth while exchange for you (great food) and our community! It's the kind of place that you'll go and end up chatting with whomever is there at the time, patrons and staff.

Connie recently mentioned that she's doing a Friday dinner special as well as a Sunday brunch so check it out!
