Whiz Kid: Sydney Cave

Key to Awesomeness: She is a great skier, and also rides horses, plays soccer, softball and music.

Sydney started skiing when she was 2 1/2 years old. She was a challenge because she always wanted to ski alone, without help from her mom. When she turned four she was placed on the Dodge Ridge Ski Team. At six years old she took 6th place overall in the J6 Farwest Central Series, taking 1st place overall in the same division the next year.  Her best discipline is Giant Slalom. Last year she got a 2nd place in the J5 age group, and this year she got a 6th and 10th place in the J4 age group. Sydney has one more year of ski racing in the J4 age group and then will probably hang up her race skis and just enjoy free skiing with her family and friends.

Sydney is currently playing on the Martinez Youth Baseball Softball AAA Bears softball team.  She so far is having a very successful season. She recently hit her first home run. She pitched in the last three innings on the game, allowing no runs scored, and struck out 8 of the 11 batters that she faced.

Sydney is a very good student, and participates in the after school music program on Mondays with Ben Renwick from Campana music.  She plays the saxophone and loves to write songs.

Sydney is indeed a whiz kid.
