St. Catherine's Students Take Honors In Contra Costa County Science and Engineering Fair

Four students receive honors, winning more awards than any other Catholic school in the division.

Four students from -- (back row, from left) Jennifer McGregor (3rd place), Katrina Villacarlos (4th place), Rachel Canon (4th place), and (front row, left) Andrea Berger (3rd place), accompanied by their Science teacher, Ms. Laurie Pitchers -- participated in and received honors at the 2012 Contra Costa County Science and Engineering Fair, held on March 15-17, 2012, in Los Medanos College, Pittsburg.

They competed against students from private and public schools across Contra Costa and the Tri-Valley/San Ramon area, and won the most awards of any Catholic school in the Junior (7th & 8th grades) Division.

The fair is designed to "inspire young scientists and engineers to pursue careers in science".

This is the third year that St. Catherine of Siena School has participated in the fair, and the third year that all of its participants have received honors. Science is alive and well at St. Catherine of Siena!
