Assistant Principals for Alhambra and Martinez Jr. High Appointed

Tom Doppe named AP for Alhambra and Jessica Conkle will be the AP for Martinez Jr. High.

Former Mt. Diablo High School English teacher Tom Doppe is the new assistant principal for Alhambra High School, it was announced at the Martinez Unified School District Board special meeting last month.

According to Assistant Superintendent Rick Rubino, Doppe has been an English teacher at Mt. Diablo High in Concord since 2004. He has served as chairman of the English Department, as well as a mentor and school leadership team member. He was school administrator for Mt. Diablo Unified School District's 2010 summer school program.

"We know Tom will bring his many strengths as an instruction leader, which will enhance the school climate and programs for students at Alhambra High School," Rubino said.

Jessica Conkle has been appointed assistant principal at Martinez Jr. High.

Conkle has taught at Seven Hills School in Walnut Creek since 2009. She was a teacher at Las Juntas Elementary in Martinez from 2004 to 2009.

An early Smart Board technology leader in the Martinez district in 2004, Conkle teaches Smart Board technology throughout Contra Costa County school districts, Rubino said.
