Martinez Schools Earn Stellar API Scores

Every school in Martinez, elementary through high school, posted Base API scores above a key state benchmark.

The California Department of Education has released its Base API scores for individual schools, which will be used to track growth next fall when test results from the 2012-13 school year are released.

All Martinez Unified School District schools scored above the benchmark of 800 which means growth rates are not imposed on the schools.

Alhambra High School has a Base API of 821. Student scores were sufficient to earn the school a statewide rank of 8.

Martinez Junior High has a Base API of 870. It also earned a statewide rank of 8.

Elementary school rankings:

John Muir—API of 828. State rank of 6

John Swett—API of 915. State rank of 9.

Las Juntas—API of 836. State rank of 6.

Morello Park—API of 932. State rank of 10.

Hidden Valley Elementary School, in the Mt. Diablo District, has a API of 889 and a state rank of 9.

Continuation, alternative and private schools do not receive API rankings.
