Bulldogs Bring Home Medals From The Ed Sias Invitational

Quigley takes second, four freshmen bring home medals.

Saturday’s Ed Sias Cross Country Invitational was a success for the Alhambra High Bulldogs, with one runner winning second place, and four freshmen finishing with medals.

Tyler Hanson of Campolindo High School placed first with a time of 10:14, Evan Quigley of Alhambra was second at 10:20, and Thomas Joyce ended up in fourth place at 10:24.  Joyce held the lead through most of the race. Hanson and Quigley caught him at bottom of finale hill and kicked into the top two finishing spots.  Their final race times placed Hanson and Quigley into the Top 25 all-time runners list for the Ed Sias Invitational.

Four freshman Bulldog runners finished their first Ed Sias race with medalist honors.  Michael Viano and Luis Haefke finished in second and fourth place in the boy's frosh/soph race.  Viano narrowly missed winning the race by three tenths of a second.  The girl's frosh/soph race featured two Alhambra runners cracking into the top ten. Helene Hollidge finished in 6th place and Allie Timbrell ran 8th overall out of 189 total runners.
