Alhambra High School Drum Major Takes Home Trophy

Andrew Barrella wins a second place trophy from the Walnut Festival Parade.

Alhambra High School Drum Major Andrew Barrella took home the second-place trophy last week from the Walnut Festival marching band competition. The prize included a trophy and $150 for the band, according to AHS music teacher Julianne George.

"We have a two-foot-tall trophy to display," George said. "I guess we'd better get busy building a trophy case."

Martinez Patch wants to take this opportunity to extend a giant "congratulations" to Andrew Barrella for his excellent and award-winning effort. Go 'Dogs!

Paint the railroad trestle that crosses Alhambra. It's an eyesore.
