Rankin Aquatic Center Makes Statewide Splash

State agency grants 'Showcase Award' to Martinez's facility; the award committee was 'very jealous,' says city manager.

Let's call it a cannonball for the city of Martinez.

The Rankin Aquatic Center was named the Outstanding Aquatic Facility for 2012 in a Showcase Award  by the California Park and Recreation Society District 3 Agency.

"The award committee was impressed with our beautiful facility and very jealous," wrote Martinez City Manager Phil Vince in a newsletter posted on the city website this month.
