Public Workshop to Discuss Improvements for Waterfront Park

How would you improve Waterfront Park? Here's your chance to share ideas.

A public workshop will be held later this month to brainstorm ideas for improvements to Waterfront Park in Martinez.

The largest community recreation park in Martinez, Waterfront Park hosts softball tournaments, the Fourth of July celebration and a number of other special events each year, including the Beer Fest and King of the County Bar-B-Que.

The park also serves general recreation functions including group picnics, family picnics, play areas, soccer and a skateboard park.

The Parks, Recreation, Marina and Cultural Commission (PRMCC) is hosting on Nov. 19 at 7 p.m.

It is anticipated that this meeting will be the first of three opportunities for public
comment. The second meeting will be held to review a draft plan for PRMCC
approval, and a third hearing will be held at a City Council meeting at which time the plan will receive final approval to proceed into document preparation for the actual park improvements construction.
