Highway 24 Delays Continue Due to Caldecott Tunnel Work
Caltrans will be doing fire drills and testing on the Veterans Day holiday at the tunnel
Caltrans is warning commuters about delays on Highway 24 during the Veterans Day holiday because of work at the Caldecott Tunnel.
The tunnel will have only one tunnel open in each direction from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday as first responder safety drills are conducted in the third bore and the tunnel's new fourth bore.
The tunnel will also have only one bore open in each direction from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. on Monday night and Tuesday morning as construction work continues on the fourth bore.
The new bore is tentatively scheduled to open on Saturday, but that date hasn't been confirmed. It will depend on safety drills and construction this week.
