BART is unveiling its "Fleet of the Future" model train on Wednesday as part of the agency's fourth-annual Blue Sky Festival in San Francisco.

The unveiling will take place at 11 a.m. during the festival at Justin Herman Plaza, where the public will be invited to tour the train and provide feedback.

The train will be taken on a flatbed truck to nine other locations around the Bay Area between Wednesday and mid-May.

The closest event for this area will be at the Concord BART station May 9 from 2 p.m to 7 p.m.

More information about the other events can be found on BART's website.

The first new fleet of the trains is expected to go into passenger service in 2017, BART officials said.

More than 50 environmental organizations will also be gathering Wednesday for BART's Blue Sky Festival.

Held the week before Earth Day, the Blue Sky Festival is a chance for the public to learn eco-friendly tips, hear live music and win prizes.

Attendees can pick up a BART Blue Sky Passport at the event and collect stamps from vendors. The first 5,000 people to turn in passports with six stamps will get a free $6 BART ticket. People who turn in stamped passports will also be entered into a drawing to win a folding bike.

The festival runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Justin Herman Plaza, located at the foot of Market Street near The Embarcadero.

Tours of the model train will continue through 7 p.m., BART officials said.
