County Superior Court Appoints New Court Executive Officer

Stephen Nash will be responsible for administrative functions of the Contra Costa County Superior Court.

The Contra Costa County Superior Court this week has announced it hired Stephen Nash as the new court executive officer.

Nash, currently working at the San Bernardino County Superior Court at the same position, will begin his role in Contra Costa County on Dec. 1, court officials said.

In San Bernardino, Nash supervises nearly 1,000 employees and a budget of close to $100 million. Nash has served as director of finance of the administrative office of the courts on the state level; budget analyst for the state's department of finance; and deputy director of administrative services for the California Department of Youth Authority.

As the court executive officer, Nash will be responsible for administrative functions of the superior court and work to ensure the public's efficient and timely access to justice, court officials said.

Nash replaces Kiri Torre, who retired on June 30.
