Meeting to Discuss Draft Climate Action Plan and Reducing Emissions

The public is invited to attend to learn more about the voluntary CAP measures.

Here's information provided by the City of Livermore:

The City of Livermore (City) is holding a meeting to provide information and answer questions about the draft Climate Action Plan (CAP) released in early August.

The meeting will be held Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012 at the Livermore Area Recreation & Park District, Robert Livermore Community Center in the South Ballroom from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The facility is located at 4444 East Avenue in Livermore. City staff and consultants will be on hand to answer the public’s questions related to this document.

The draft CAP outlines voluntary measures that will reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emission levels produced within the City. The reduction goal of 15 percent below 2008 conditions by 2020 was adopted in the Climate Change Element of the Livermore 2025 General Plan. Implementation of the CAP will support the statewide effort to reduce emissions in California to 1990 levels by 2020 under Assembly Bill 32, the California Global Warming Solutions Act.

The draft document will be considered by the Planning Commission on October 16 and by the City Council on November 26.

Some emission-reduction activities included in the draft CAP are related to increasing the use of clean, renewable energy; making transportation choices that result in fewer emissions; recycling and reusing; and increasing water conservation efforts.

The draft CAP is now available at http://www.cityoflivermore.net/citygov/cd/planning/cap/default.asp. The City encourages meeting participants to review the document prior to attending on Sept. 27.

Now you know what this spoiled political class does with time. Let's take their vehicles away and make them walk. You know that's what they'll tell us to do. HEY! You overpaid lazy jerks the sky is falling. Good Grief.

I hope Carnegie OHV does not come up in this topic for reducing emissions in livermore because I know the tree huggers already tried closing it down but you lost luckily!!

EVERYBODY, and I *mean* Everybody, needs to pack this meeting and tell the city council and bureaucrats that we, the *educated* populace of Livermore, absolutely *reject* their bullsh*t pseudo-science scare tactics and *demand* that they drop both this CAP nonsense and reject the Agenda 21 and Bay Area Plan cr@pola!!! They have lost because the truth about the "Global Cooling/Warming/Climate" change scam is out there available to all. I will be there and will back up all my statements with *true* science, not this pseudo-science claptrap!

This will be just as bad for Livermore as it was when CSAA closed their call center and Johnson Controls had to pare down jobs after NUMMI closed. And if anybody noticed, the KFC behind downtown on "L" Street also closed up shop over the Summer. Things aren't good around here.
