Kabul Con

9:09 a.m.: Someone contacted the Martinez Police Department to report that they’d fallen victim to a scam on on online dating site. Between June 8 and last Wednesday, the victim allegedly lost $18,200 to man who claimed to be living in Kabul, Afghanistan.

Passed Out on Alhambra Avenue

10:51 a.m.: Martinez police arrested a 59-year-old man who was found passed out behind some bushes near the Safeway on Alhambra Avenue.

Burglary on Costanza Drive

3:44 p.m.: A burglar kicked in the back door of a residence on Constanza Drive and ransacked a home office while two of the residents were home. The victim reported a fanny pack with a cell phone, ID and credit cards missing.

Stolen Stereo

7:22 p.m.: Auto burglars stole a $500 stereo from a truck parked on Roanoke Drive.

Sunday, August 25

Bocce Court Auto Theft

1:12 p.m. Someone reported a stolen vehicle, which had been parked near the bocce courts on Tarantino Drive.

Dog Without a Leash

4:54 p.m. Someone reported a golden retriever was off-leash at Golden Hills Park on Sterling Drive. The dog and its owner were gone when police arrived.
