Wanted Man Arrested After Highway Chase, 25-Foot Jump
A police officer pulled over the suspect on a ramp that connects state Highway 4 to Interstate Highway 80 near Martinez.

A Hercules man was arrested after a vehicle and foot chase that began with a traffic stop late Monday night, according police.
James Moses, 36, was arrested by the California Highway Patrol after the chase, which began shortly after 11:30 p.m. when a Hercules police officer pulled over a white 1999 Chevrolet Lumina on a ramp that connects state Highway 4 to Interstate Highway 80.
Moses, who was driving the Lumina, challenged the officer's reason for pulling him over and refused to identify himself, Hercules police said. When a second officer approached the driver's side of the car, Moses sped away, police said.
Hercules police pursued the Lumina and alerted the CHP to the pursuit. In Albany, Moses drove into a construction zone and Hercules police terminated their pursuit, police said.
The CHP took over the pursuit until Moses stopped his vehicle on Interstate Highway 580 near Marina Bay Parkway.
Moses got out of his vehicle and jumped over the guardrail, landing about 25 feet below, where he was taken into custody.
He complained of back and ankle pain and was taken by ambulance to Doctors Medical Center, according to police.
Moses was arrested on suspicion of recklessly evading a police officer, being a felon in possession of a firearm, and making death threats, according to Hercules police.
He was also arrested on a 2011 warrant for assault with a deadly weapon. After being medically cleared, he was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility.
