The Community Shows Its Heart For The Brock Family

Donations of money and clothing are being sought and received for the family of the Christmas House who lost everything in a fire Tuesday morning.

The Brock family woke up Tuesday morning to find their beloved Walnut Street home, known in the community as the Christmas House, engulfed in flames. By the time the fire was out, they had lost most everything. The fire was believed to have been started by a pellet burning stove. Thanks to the fact that the smoke alarm batteries had recently been changed, the family got out with no injuries.

On Wednesday morning, the Martinez community stands ready and willing to help them through this very tough time, with donations of food, clothing and cash.

A Brock Family Christmas Home page on Facebook is now live and directs people on what is needed, which is pretty much everything from clothes to cash to toiletries. Those can be directly delivered to 911 Walnut Street. A bank account has been established for the family as well, and who want to donate cash can do so through Wells Fargo Bank, public account number 7144692550, attention Sharon Brock.
