Report of Shots Fired in Martinez Leads to Drugs, Weapons Seizure

The incident led to one arrest as well as drugs and weapons being seized.

Martinez police on Sunday seized more than a pound of methamphetamine, more than 10 pounds of marijuana, scales, money, and a number of loaded firearms after responding to a call of "shots fired," police said Monday.

Officers were sent to the 2100 block of Valente Court just before 5 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers determined that several shots were fired outside of a residence on Valente Court, but the suspect had fled the area prior to the officers arriving.

Officers initiated an investigation and ultimately gathered enough information to obtain a search warrant in connection with this incident. The search warrant was served at a residence in the 2100 block of Valente Court.

Police located more than a pound of suspected methamphetamine, more than 10 pounds of dried marijuana, scales and money, and several loaded firearms to include an AK-47 style rifle converted to an assault rifle.

Officers arrested MARIO RUBEN PANDO (DOB:09-27-1982) during the service of this search warrant on suspicion of drug and weapons charges.
