Police Log - Trouble at the Marina Market and Several Hit and Runs

September 21

No sleeping at school – A man was reported sleeping in a sleeping bag in the rear soccer field at John Muir Elementary School on Vista Way.

Wheels go round – A woman reported that she was holding a bicycle for her grandson, and was advised that the bike was stolen.

Jewels out of nowhere – A resident of Pine Street reported finding a bag of jewelry on their property.

Theft from vehicle – A car was broken into on White Mountain Court and tools and medications were taken.

Mystery pool – A resident of Augustine Drive reported coming home to find that someone had turned the pool water on full blast. Nothing else was disturbed.

Package delivered, undelivered – A resident of Center Avenue reported a package that was stolen from the porch.

A car keyed – A car was reported scratched by keys on Arreba Street, causing $4,000 worth of damage.

One motivated customer – A man at the Marina Market on Escobar Street was reported trying to break the glass on the front counter.

Rock assault – A group of kids were reported throwing rocks at another youngster who was in the Parkside Community Pool.

Dead deer – A deer was struck and killed by a car on Alhambar Avenue and Henrietta Street. Animal Control was notified.

Looking for trouble – Three men on the second floor of America’s Best Value Inn on Alhambra Avenue were reported threatening people in the area, looking for a fight.

September 22

Unhappy customer – A man at the Marina Market on Escobar Street is reported banging on the windows because they won’t sell him alcohol.

Waffle nap – A man is reported sleeping at the back door of Country Waffles on Arnold Drive.

Making money – A man is reported trying to pass fake bills at the Marina Market on Escobaer Street.

False solicitor – A resident of Veterans Drive reported a tall man with blond hair was soliciting for AT&T.

False police report – A man was arrested for suspicion of filing a false police report when he told police that his car was stolen, and it turned out that it was not his car.

One mad employee – An employee of a restaurant on Escobar Street reportedly broke a kitchen window and left the building.

Hit and run arrest – A man was arrested for suspicion of non-injury hit and run on Alhambra Avenue.

September 23

Prowler – A prowler was reported in the backyard of a home on Nicolette Court.

 Stolen truck – A truck with “All Day Electric” printed on both sides was stolen from Vine Hill Way.

Endangered child – A child was reported locked in a car with no one around at the Kaiser Permanente Medical Office Buildings on Center Avenue.

Head injury – A man was reported injured after he was hit in the head by a water bottle thrown from a car on Franklin Canyon Drive.

Train complainer – A man was arrested at the Amtrak Station after he was reported screaming and pounding on the seats during the train ride.

Smash and grab – A car window was smashed and a purse stolen at Hidden Lakes Park on Morello Avenue.

Public drunkenness – Two women were arrested for public drunkenness after they were reported fighting at Marina Vista and Estudillo Street.

Crime with a peel – A resident of Holly View Drive reported that someone threw an apple at her window, believes it was someone at the school behind her house.

Hit and run – A truck on Fig Tree Lane reportedly hit two cars before driving away toward Arnold Drive.
