Police Log — Saturday Night Was Party Night In Martinez

Saturday, Aug. 6

Noise and cursing – A loud party was reported on Shell Avenue. When the neighbor complained, he was cursed at.

Sonic indulgence – A loud party at a home on J Street caused a complaint to police.

More parties – Another party on Spring Lake Drive brought more complaints.

Say what? – A man on Pine Street and Sentinel Drive was arrested after a report he was threatening to kill people. He had no weapons at the time of his arrest.

No faire parking – Cars were parked on Main Street where vendors for the Peddler’s Faire set up stalls.

Modern day tracking – A woman contacted police and said that her car was stolen from Moraga; her GPS system tracked it to an address on Serrano Drive.

Old yokes home – A house on Pine Street was egged.

Fireworks and donuts – A report of men spinning donuts and lighting fireworks at the marina.

Assault – A man at the bocce courts on North Court Street was struck in the head with a bottle and required a medical response. A man was arrested later on suspicion of public drunkenness.

Bovine crime – A cow reportedly was shot near the Shell Refinery.

These arms of mine – The train crossing arms at Ferry Street were not working and a technician from Union Pacific was called to repair them.

Smash and grab – A car parked at Hidden Lakes Park had the passenger side window smashed and a purse stolen from inside.

Punk rock party – A resident of Endriss Drive complained about a “loud punk rock party.”

Party town – Another party complaint was registered from a home on Arana Drive.

Rolling with Fido – A man was reported “rolling backwards with his dog” at the corner of Warren Street and Alhambra Avenue.

A marriage postponed – A man reported losing an engagement ring at the Forest Hills Safeway. He believed he dropped it there.

Deer down – A driver reported hitting a deer at the corner of Alhambra Avenue and Elderwood Drive.

Fired up – A resident of Appalachian Drive reported a “huge” bonfire at a nearby house.

A very unhappy mom – A woman who picked up her underage daughter from a party said the daughter was intoxicated and that she believed the party was unsupervised.

Yes, even the Boys and Girls Club – Neighbors around the Boys and Girls Club on Alhambra Avenue complained about noise from a loud party there.
