POLICE LOG: Resident Suspicious Of Door-To-Door Solicitors

Activity reported by the Martinez Police Department June 9-10, 2013.

The Martinez Police Department received a report Monday evening from a resident who says two suspicious men were at her front door. The woman reported two black men appeared to be soliciting in the neighborhood on Macalvey Drive, but when they knocked on her door one of them tried the door handle when she didn't answer.

One man was reportedly dressed in a yellow safety vest and the other in a yellow shirt. Both men appeared to be in the 20s.

The El Cerrito Police recently arrested three men suspected of burglary whose M.O. was to dress as service workers and approach homes, looking for vacant residences.

There have been similar reports from other Bay Area cities.
