Police Log: It's Noisy Out There

The following information was taken from the Daily Police Log, Sept. 13 through 15, 2012, and rewritten by Martinez Patch.

Wednesday, Sept. 12

02:24 a.m. – Suspicious activity: A white man about 20 years old, wearing a white shirt and dark pants and carrying a backpack was reportedly looking into cars at Muir Road at Fountainhead Court. Last seen walking east bound on Muir Road.

6:29 a.m. -- Grand theft: Building mechanic at LDS church on Palisade Drive reported that all the copper wire from parking lot light poles had been stolen, possibly overnight.

7:46 a.m. – Petty theft: A black Cannondale mountain bike was stolen on Tacoma Avenue between 11:30 p.m. and 7 a.m.

11:14 a.m. – Assault and robbery: Victim reported bruises, bumps and wallet stolen after assault at skateboard park on North Court Street.

11:41 a.m. – Security check: A victim reported purse stolen on Oak Crest Court with all identification; the auto believed to be involved is a black Chevy truck with an oxidized roof.

2:02 p.m. – Vehicle on fire reported on Route 3 east of Pine Street.  Referred to Con Fire 49.

2:19 p.m. – Noise disturbance: Loud cursing throughout the night on Donegal Way. A 59-year-old woman was reported to be out of control.

2:34 p.m. – Robbery:  A woman entered the Martinez Gas Service on Green Street, said she had been mugged and collapsed.

5:14 p.m. – Solicitor: An AT&T service representative came to a resident’s door on Farm Lane, chatted, then groped himself, commenting on how “beautiful” her dress was. Latino man, no age estimate, white dress shirt, dark pants.

5: 10 p.m. – Found property: A resident believes someone is in her crawl space on Allen Street. She has been hearing sounds from the area and a police check turned up a bicycle.

5: 25 p.m. – Brush fire: Small brush fire on Banbury Lane, handled by Con Fire.

6:20 p.m. – Suspicious vehicle: Older red two-door auto was driving up and down Brookside Drive heading south toward Walgreens, blasting music, narrowly avoided striking children.

6:37 p.m. – Suspicious person: Homeless man took alcohol from the Safeway on Alhambra Avenue. Product was retrieved, and man was found lying down under a tree on the side of Virginia Hill Drive.

7:13 p.m. – Suspicious circumstance: A strange smell was reported coming from a vacant residence on F Street, which caller suspects could be used as a meth lab. Several people come in and out of the residence over the past two weeks.

8: 22 p.m. – Warrant: Police arrested a woman on a warrant for being drunk in public at Morello Avenue and Gilcrix Drive.

9:06 p.m. – Road rage incident: After a close call on Arnold Drive, a driver pulled into the lot of a Walmart store. The other driver got out of her car, believed to be a silver Buick, and kicked the reporting party’s car several times.

11:07 p.m. – Grand theft: A resident hired two lovers to help him move out of his residence on Fountainhead Court. He is now missing a gun.

Friday, Sept. 15

1:13 a.m. – Miscellaneous disturbance: A group of people yelling and partying near the tennis courts at Golden Hills Park on Condor Drive were also bouncing a ball. Police brought the party to a close.

9:57 a.m. – Miscellaneous call for outside assistance: An individual reportedly assaulted an elderly grandmother at the Emerson Arms Apartments on Ward Street and was taken to the hospital on a 5150 but released immediately. The same person is now calling the mother and grandmother threatening violence. Referred to Hercules Police Department.

11:11 a.m. – Domestic abuse/outside assistance: A woman was trying to crawl in traffic on westbound Route 4 at Alhambra to escape an abuser, described as a black male in a beige jacket. He was trying to drag her back to the vehicle. Referred to an outside agency.

3:28 p.m. – Found property: A wallet was found on a Route 4 on ramp at Henrietta Street.

7: 37 p.m. – Petty theft: A woman was reportedly stealing from a Safeway store on Alhambra Avenue. She is described as black, in her 20s, wearing plaid shirt and shorts, and stuffing her purse with items. Her companion is described as black, about 50 years old, 6 feet, 2 inches, about 250 lbs., wearing a white T-shirt.  Police truncated the excursion.

8:02 p.m. – Petty theft: Two men stole a Makita Combo drill set worth $400. They are described as white, seen driving westbound on Arnold Drive in a brown Infiniti SUV with no back license plate.

8: 25 p.m. – Petty theft: A person newly released from the hospital to her home on Ferry Street discovered all her medications, including morphia, were missing. The only individuals with keys are her children and the apartment manager.

8:49 p.m. – Petty theft:  A woman stole $300 of merchandise from a Walmart store on Arnold Drive. She is described as white wearing a gray shirt and black pants. She was detained by security and arrested.

10:42 p.m. – Noise disturbance: Loud party on Brown Street going on since 3 p.m. Warning given.

10:46 p.m. – Noise disturbance: Loud party reported on Arana Drive. Noise was abated.

10:49 p.m. – Noise disturbance: A loud party was reported on Morello Avenue. Noise was abated.

10:52 p.m. -- Noise disturbance: Neighbor on Twinflower Court slamming things around, coming in and out of a red Chevy truck yelling.

The main reason I don't go to any of the businesses downtown is the lack of parking. What littleRead More there is is taken up by the owners of these establishments. God forbid they park somewhere else less convenient so actual paying customers can frequent their businesses.
