Police Log — More Car Thefts

Plus arrests on charges of public intoxication and a scary assault.

MAY 14

Two stolen vehicles — A van was stolen from a Holiday Hills Drive residence, and another vehicle was stolen on Fig Tree Lane.

Scooter loot — A pair of scooters were stolen from a home on Westaire Boulevard. The victim says she believes her neighbor is selling them at a garage sale.

Theft from vehicle — A man whose car was parked at the Kaiser Permanente office buildings saw a woman in his car, and when he approached she ran toward a truck and drove away.

Train target practice — A group of kids reportedly were throwing rocks at a passing train from the Franklin Canyon trestle.

Scary behavior — A man in an orange bandana was in the Amtrak station yelling at customers.

MAY 15

Tired of the noise — There was a complaint about loud live music coming from the Les Schwab Car Show.

Bad for business — A man with a scruffy beard and black leather jacket was harassing customers and the manager of Walgreens on Alhambra Avenue. He was arrested.

Shoplifting couple — There was a report of a man and woman in Luigi's Deli on Main Street putting items in their jackets.

Ready for the revving to stop — A resident of Center Avenue complained that the owner of a nearby car had been revving the engine for more than eight hours.

MAY 16

In-store inebriation — A man who brought wine in a paper bag into Radio Shack on Arnold Drive was arrested on a charge of public drunkenness after he was verbally hostile.

Won't go away — A man trying to sell pot to a Shadow Falls Drive resident would not stop knocking on the door, despite having it slammed in his face.

Theft from home — An Endriss Drive home was broken into and two jewelry boxes were stolen.

Pre-cycled computer — A computer and accessories left on the porch of a Janet Lane home for a recycler to pick up were gone by the time the recycler arrived. The owner is worried about private information on the computer.

MAY 17

Bad eggsample — A car on Center Avenue was egged overnight.

Grand theft — A locker at 24 Hour Fitness was broken into and keys, cash and a cell phone were taken.

Stolen vehicle — A man claims he saw his stolen truck in the Home Depot parking lot with two men sitting in it as he was driving by on the freeway.

More kids throwing things — A report of two teenagers throwing things at cars on Muir Road and Morello Avenue.

Suspicious carpet cleaning — A man came to a home on Center Avenue offering to clean the carpet.

Smoky subject — A woman asked police for advice on how to deal with a neighbor in her smoke-free apartment complex who constantly smokes cigarettes and marijuana in the apartment next door.

MAY 18

Air boxing at the bank — A man was seen yelling and punching the air in the Chase Bank parking lot.

Stealing soda — A Lassen Drive resident reports soda was stolen from her garage.

Hot cards for hot pizza — An employee of Mountain Mike's Pizza reported that suspects were calling in and ordering pizza with stolen or fraudulent credit cards.

Grand theft — A report that a bag containing a laptop, a camera and $3,840 was stolen from Marina Vista Park.

Stuck in elevator — A report of someone stuck in an elevator at Martinez Junior High.

Assault with a deadly weapon — A person walking home from Tower Mart reportedly was stabbed in the head.

Theft from vehicle — A car was broken into on Center Avenue and stereo equipment was taken.

May 20

Drunken arrests  — Three men were arrested on suspicion of public intoxication in front of the Marina Market.

DUI — A man was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, and his passenger arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of drugs in the Nob Hill parking lot.
