Police Log - Mean Dogs, Stolen Cars and Weapons, and Flaming Parking Lots

August 29
No means no – Reports that people were parking in No Parking zones on Morello Heights.
Arrest – A man was arrested at D Street and Alhambra Avenue and charged with suspicion of driving under the influence and possession of a controlled substance.

Stolen weapon – A woman on Pine Street reported having her purse stolen out of an unlocked car, and her boyfriend’s gun was in the purse.
Neither snow, nor sleet, but pit bulls… - A large, aggressive pit bull had a mailmain trapped in his truck on Bartolini Drive.

Burglary – A home on Rainier Drive was broken into through a back window.
Prowler – A resident of Richardson Street reported someone trying to enter through the front door, turning the doorknob. The resident was home alone.
August 30
Special delivery – A car delivering newspapers was reported on Alhambra Way and Tahoe Circle going between 50 and 60 mph, running through stop signs.
Double dog trouble – A woman on Wano Street and Alhambra Avenue reported that a German Sheppard and black Labrador were not letting her off the porch.
Hauled away – A U-Haul truck was stolen from US Gas on Alhambra Avenue.
Fraud – A woman reported that her “grandson” contacted her and said he was in jail in Mexico, and she wired nearly $10,000 to him, only to find out it wasn’t him.
Burglary – A home on Paradise Drive was entered through the back bathroom door and a computer, a Wii game, a DS game and gift cards were stolen.
Stolen cars – Cars were reported stolen on Maywood Lane and Arnold Drive.
Flammable hijinks – Eight young people were reported lighting the parking lot on fire at Taco Bell on Muir Road, using some kind of liquid.
August 31
Small oil spill – Up to one gallon of oil spilled into the Carquinez Strait from the Shell Oil Refinery. It was contained and cleaned up.
Unwanted air conditioning – A woman on Castro Street reported that she found a bullet hole in her bathroom window for the second time.
Drunk driving arrest – A man was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving after he hit a parked car on Ulfinian Way.
