Police Log — Lots of Stolen Stuff and a Woman Lying on the Train Tracks

Aug. 2

If you’re waiting for installation – A resident of Shenandoah Drive reported a white cable truck with out of state plates parked in front of a fire hydrant, and that it always seems to be in the area.

Bad training – A man jumped onto the back of a locomotive, then jumped off, then jumped back on again. He was gone by the time police arrived.

Stolen Stoli – Two women stole two bottles of alcohol from the Lucky supermarket on Arnold Drive.

Stolen stroller – A woman on Virginia Hills Drive reported that someone stole a double stroller and bike trailer from her back yard.

Stolen furnishings – A woman on Center Avenue reported that about $10,000 worth of items were missing after a moving company shipped the contents of her home from Lompoc.

Aug. 3

Money to go – Someone backed up a truck to an ATM machine at the Shell gas station on Muir Road and stole it.

Very scary game – A woman was seen lying across the railroad tracks at Parkway Drive and Howe Road but the train stopped in time and avoided hitting her. She rode off on a bicycle.

Someone forgot to lock the bank – The door to Union Bank on Ferry Street was unlocked; it did not appear to have been forced open.

Grass fire – There was a small grass fire at the top of F Street.
