Police Log: Horses on the Road, Two Accidents, Man Stranded on Roof

November 20

DUI - 12:04 a.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence on Pacheco Boulevard.

Horses on the loose - 12:31 a.m. A caller reported that four horses were loose on the road near Arreba Street and Duncan Drive. They were gone — possibly back to their stable — when police arrive.

Big boom - 5:12 a.m. Two callers reported hearing a loud boom on Castro Street, followed by car alarms going off. Police couldn't find the source.

Vehicle burglary - 10:26 a.m. A vehicle break-in was reported on Lake View Place.

Hot Wheels go missing - 11:08 a.m. A caller reported that her son's Hot Wheels bike was stolen at Hidden Lakes Park the previous day.

Stuck on the roof - 1:42 p.m. A man climbed up on the roof of a building on Apex Court, then found the ladder was too unstable to descend. The fire department was asked to help out.

Vehicle vs. tree - 2:37 p.m. A vehicle reportedly hit a tree at the eastbound on-ramp to Highway 4 from Alhambra Avenue.

Accident - 3:57 p.m. An ambulance was dispatched when a vehicle hit a pole at at Pacheco Boulevard and Camino del Sol.

November 21

Gang graffiti - 8:14 a.m. Graffiti was reported on a Ferry Street facility. Ten minutes later, gang tags were discovered on city vehicles in the front parking lot at the Martinez Police Department.

Stolen vehicle recovered - 9:20 a.m. An officer spotted a stolen vehicle on La Salle Street.

Once-car accident - 9:33 a.m. A white sedan hit the wall on Interstate 680 near Marina Vista and was facing oncoming traffic. The California Highway Patrol responded.

Shoplifting arrests - 12:42 p.m. A Walmart employee reported that two men who were seen shoplifting in the store over the weekend had returned. Both were arrested on suspicion of possessing stolen property.

Forgery - 2:30 p.m. Someone reportedly deposited a forged or fraudulent check into an account at Chase Bank on Alhambra Avenue, then withdrew $8,700.

Residential burglary - 3:45 p.m. Tire rims, tools and computer parts were reported stolen after someone kicked in a boarded-up back window.
