Police Log - Catalytic Converters Targeted

Over a half dozen catalytic converters have been reported stolen in the past four days.

JUNE 1

Sleepy Crime – A man was reported sleeping for two nights at the Martinez Adult School campus.

No Muir Union – A member of the Carpenter’s Union was reported at the site of the John Muir National Historic site, demanding to know why work being done there is not going through the union.

Eat and Leave – A man ordered a sandwich at Buon Aroma on Alhambra Avenue and left without paying.

Ronald McBroken – The front window of the McDonald’s on Court Street was broken.

Catalytic Converter Stolen – Someone used pipe cutters to cut out a catalytic converter on Endriss Drive.

Assault – A man reported being choked at the Marina Market on Escobar Stret.

Burglary – Someone broke into a home on Endriss Drive and stole jewelry.

Catalytic Converters Stolen – A rash of catalytic converter thefts were reported from Deerwood Drive, Redwood Drive, Hull Lane, and two on Augustine Court.

Petty Theft – A package was stolen from a porch on Bush Street.

Bad Sales Technique – A solicitor was reported getting very aggressive after a Morello Heights resident refused his services.

Customer vs. Customer – A customer at Petco on Arnold Drive was reported screaming at another customer over an alleged accident in the parking lot.

Strangers on a Train – A man traveling with a patient reported that his patient was propositioned by another man at the Amtrak Station, and he was afraid, since that other man would be on the train as well.

JUNE 2

More Catalytic Converter Thefts – Catalytic converters were stolen from homes on Rainbow Drive and Bryce Drive.

Ice Cream at your Parking – An ice cream truck was reported parking in an unsafe place at John Muir Elementary School.

Auto Theft – A car was stolen from the parking lot at Cue and Brew on Arnold Drive.

JUNE 3

Auto Theft – A car was stolen from a home on Sequoia Drive.

Crash – A woman reported that a car crashed into her truck on Christie Drive.

Another Catalytic Converter Theft – This one reported on Costanza Drive.

Attempted Break-In – Three people were seen trying to break into the rear entrance of the Campbell Theater on Ward Street.

Egged On – A man reported that his house on Skyline Drive was egged.

Driven to Distraction – An Alhambra High School student is allegedly driving himself and his friends to school with his parents’ permission, but without a license.

Fallen – A man was arrested for public drunkenness in front of St. Catherine’s Church on Mellus Street after falling down and passing out.

Assault – A woman reported that a man grabbed her from behind at the Morello Avenue 7-11.

No Fare – A minor was arrested in Martinez after taking the Amtrak train from San Luis Obisbo without paying the fare.

JUNE 4

Brandishing a Weapon – A man was reported brandishing a knife near the pool area on Orchard View Avenue. 

Burglary – A Marazzani Drive home was burglarized and a safe removed from the bedroom closet.

Broken Door – The glass door at Bulldog BBQ on Main Street was smashed.

Catalytic Converter Stolen – This one from Costanza Drive.
