Police Log - Car Thefts and Bag of Bones

Also a found puppy, and a taxi to jail.

FEB. 12

Cold Hearted Car Thief – A 97-year-old woman had her car keys snatched out of her hand by a man with dark hair, white shorts and a blue t-shirt at the Kaiser Permanente Medical Offices.

Another Car Theft – A resident on Oak Breeze Court reported a car stolen by someone known to them.

Safeway Smash and Grab – A woman had her purse stolen out of the downtown Safeway parking lot when someone broke her window.

Bicycle Mosh Pit – A group of four teenagers were launching their bikes against the door of an office building at the corner of Masonic Ave. and Estudillo St.

FEB. 13

Cut and Grab – A car on Center Avenue had its convertible top sliced open; tools and a CD case were stolen.

Unsafe Walking – Three men were seen walking on the train trestle above Alahmbra Avenue toward Franklin Canyon. If a train came, there would be nowhere to go.

JAN. 14

Found Puppy – A Jack Russell terrier, white with brown spots, was found at Arreba Street and Duncan Drive.

Theft – A catalytic converter was stolen from a car on Starflower Drive.

Kids with Bad Manners – Bank of America employees on Main St. report a group of teenagers hanging around the ATM disrupting customers by using foul language.

Loss of lots of cash – A customer at the Home Depot store on Arnold Drive reports losing his wallet with over $1,000 cash, and his credit card.

JAN. 15

Another Starflower Dr. theft – Report that someone broke into a resident’s work truck overnight.

Taxi to Jail – A cab driver was arrested and charged with attempted robbery of the Valero gas station on Alhambra Avenue.

Bag ‘o Bones – A bag of bones was found on Waterfront Road.

Smash and Enter – Someone threw a brick through a window and entered a house on Franklin Canyon Road.

JAN. 16

Car theft – A car was stolen on Blue Ridge Drive. It was running and had the keys inside, along with the owner’s wallet.

Bad Use of Sugar – A Robinson Street resident reports having problems with his landlord, and he believes she put sugar in his gas tank.

Rock Theft – A piece of volcanic rock was stolen from the front yard of a home on Duncan Drive. The Shirts Off Their Racks – Two football jerseys – from the Buffalo Bills and the New Orleans Saints – were stolen off racks in the front of a store on Main Street.

Smash and Grab – A window was broken and a car broken into in the Alhambra High School parking lot.
