A bocce battle and a jogger targeted by rocks and eggs are in the Martinez police reports from March 10 to March 13, along with other unusual and sometimes criminal behavior.

March 10

Home burglary. A resident on Arnold Drive reported coming home at 11 p.m. and finding the house broken into and watches, jewelry and sunglasses stolen. It was unclear how the burglars entered the house, police reported.

March 11
Bocce battle. At 3:03 p.m., there was pushing and shoving by adults, with children present, at the bocce courts on North Court Street. Everything checked out OK by the time officers arrived.

March 12
Just checking. At 12:40 a.m., officers did a security check along Holiday Hills Drive because a house there had been egged the week before.

Smoldering. At 1:37 p.m., officers referred to ConFire a report of a smoldering camp fire left unattended along manmade bike trails at Hidden Lakes Park.

Frontier canine justice. At 10:25 p.m., a Harris Court resident complained about a neighbor over her back fence shooting a gun at her dog in the backyard. Officers gave advice to the neighbors.

March 13
Cursing and chasing. Officers checked on a report of a man chasing a woman into a UHaul truck with plenty of cursing and verbal abuse mixed in on Morello Avenue at 9:41 p.m. and small children in the area. Police responded and the area checked out OK.
