Noisy Protests, Lots Of Thefts From Vehicles, And Throwing Clothes

The following information is from the Daily Police Log, Nov. 23 through 27, and was rewritten by Martinez Patch.

November 23

Theft from vehicle – A car was broken into on Bryce Drive, and a checkbook and set of keys were taken. The checkbook was recovered one block away.

Not asking nicely – Officers responded to a report of a man in a black hoodie and grey sweatpants aggressively panhandling from customers in the Bank of America parking lot on Main Street.

Bike found – A red bicycle was found at the end of Mill Road.

Smashing pumpkins – A resident of Likins Avenue reported that two teenagers took pumpkins off of a porch and smashed them in the road.

November 24

Grand theft – A spare tire and a generator were stolen from the back of a truck on Degnan Drive.

Blocking access – A man in a long black jacket was reported handing out information about Occupy Martinez, and was asked to stop blocking access to the store, and refused.

November 25

Broken train – A train with a broken axle was blocking Ferry Street/Joe Dimaggio Drive for an extended period.

More aggressive panhandling – A man in the Bank of America parking lot was asking for money and cursing at people when they refused to give him any. He was gone when police arrived.

Noisy protest – Complaints were received about Occupy Martinez protestors using bullhorns at the protest.

Booze and broken bottles – A group of men at the Municipal Parking Lot on Buckley Street were reportedly drinking, cursing and throwing bottles. One of the men was in a wheelchair.

Critic – A man in a wheelchair was reportedly swearing at customers going in and out of the Marina Market on Escobar Street.

Assault – A woman reported being grabbed by a man at The Station on Ferry Street.

Smile, vandals – A resident of Old Orchard Road and Westaire Boulevard reported having video of some juveniles vandalizing the neighborhood.

Throwing clothes – Two men were reported in front of Launderland on Alhambra Avenue throwing clothes.

Self serving – A woman was asked to leave The Station on Ferry Street because she kept trying to go behind the bar and refused to leave. She was gone when officers arrived.

November 26

Dog tossing – Two men, reportedly intoxicated, were seen tossing a dog around on Pine Street. They were gone when officers arrived.

Theft from vehicle – A garage door was opened and a car broken into on Andrews Drive, a checkbook and money were taken.

Likes the ambiance? – A man who was reportedly sitting in front of Jack in the Box on Alhambra Avenue for six hours refusing to leave was escorted off the property by officers.

November 27

Theft from vehicle – A car on Arcadia Place was broken into and Christmas presents and a suitcase were stolen.
