by Bay City News

A 42-year-old Martinez man was arrested in Pleasant Hill Sept. 7 after a homeowner allegedly caught him burglarizing a house, Pleasant Hill police said.

A resident in the 700 block of Grayson Road returned home shortly before 12:40 p.m. and found a burglar inside.

The alleged burglar, later identified as Ronald Allen Stilwell, fled the home and was seen jumping over fences.

Officers responded and set up a perimeter, police said.

Detectives searching for Stilwell reportedly flushed him out of a creek onto Grayson Road where he was arrested.

A Concord police dog searched the area and found jewelry that had been stolen during the burglary, police said.

Stilwell was booked into county jail on suspicion of first-degree burglary, possession of stolen property and petty theft with priors. He is being held on $100,000 bail, police said.
