Man Assaulted on the Waterfront Bocce Courts

A 50-year-old man was hit in the face yesterday afternoon with a 55-gallon steel trash can, as he sat at the bocce courts at Waterfront Park. He was transported to the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center for treatment.

After an investigation, police arrested 51-year-old Vinn Galvin at Rankin Park on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. He was booked into county jail.

Also arrested was Lana Lozano, 42, who was with Galvin during the incident and when he was arrested at Rankin Park, police say. She was arrested for suspicion of public drunkenness and booked into county jail.
