Man Accused of Stabbing Wife in Walmart Parking Lot

Lake County man is in county jail on suspicion of attempted murder, spousal battery.

A man, who police say was high on methamphetimine, was arrested Monday night on suspicion of stabbing his wife.

According to Martinez police, 41-year-old Robert King, Jr. of Lake County was already on parole for domestic violence when a citizen reported to police that a man was assaulting a woman in a car in the Walmart parking lot on Arnold Drive.

Police say King initially resisted when officers tried to break up the fight and had to be restrained. It was then officers discovered the woman had more than 10 stab wounds. She was taken to Contra Costa Regional Medical Center for treatment. Police say her wounds are not life threatening.

King was arrested on suspicion of attemped murder, spousal battery, parole violation, and being under the influence of a drug. He was booked into county jail in Martinez. Anyone with any information on the case is being asked to contact the Martinez Police Department.
