Hearing Gunshots at Six Flags? Worry Not -- Just SWAT!
Training will involve SWAT teams from throughout Solano County.
SWAT teams from throughout Solano County will participate in a training exercise Wednesday at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo.
The Vallejo Police Department is hosting the event that begins at 8 a.m. and ends at 1 p.m. followed by a debriefing of the operation, Vallejo police Lt. John Whitney said.
To keep the training exercise as realistic as possible, the scenario to which the SWAT tams will be responding won't be revealed to the media until after the training exercise, Whitney said.
The public may hear gunshots or see smoke rising from Discovery Kingdom during the training exercise, Whitney said.
Members of Six Flags Discovery Kingdom's security staff and administrative personnel also will participate to prepare themselves for a potential critical incident, Whitney said.
