Firefighters Battle Two-Alarm Blaze in Martinez

Live electrical wires at the scene of the blaze made fighting the fire particularly difficult.

Firefighters battled a second-alarm blaze surrounded by downed electrical wires in Martinez on Friday morning, according to fire officials.

At about 3:16 a.m. Contra Costa County fire officials received a report of a fire at a car dealership near the intersection of Peach Street and Pacheco Boulevard, a fire dispatcher said.

The blaze was brought under control at about 4:04 a.m.

Firefighters reported that live electrical wires at the scene of the blaze made battling the fire particularly difficult, according to fire officials.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire remains under investigation, fire officials said.
