Dead Man Found at DoubleTree Hotel

Police are investigating the cause of the man's death.

A man was found dead inside a room Sunday morning, said Officer Traci Rebiejo of the .

At 11:09 a.m. police received a call from a hotel staff member reporting a male was found in a room and unresponsive.

When emergency crews arrived on scene the man was pronouced dead.

"There are no overly obvious signs of how he died," Rebiejo said.

Police at this time have not identified the man, described as a middle-aged white male.

Officials are calling it a suspicious death until the Alameda County Coroner's Office completes an investigation, Rebiejo said.

It seems to me that there are readers, that take every opportunity, to criticize the LPD. Patch owes them no explanation. Maybe such incidents should be withheld until more information is received.

Yes people do die every second of a day all over the world. Scary for the worker that discovered the body. Our LPD are good at what they do. Thank you! Seems some of you are well informed of the protocol.

Nothing scary about dying it just a fact of life, you, me and our kids will too someday die so just enjoy life and dont be scared !!!!

The person who died was not from this area. The police know who he is but cannot release the information until the next of kin is contacted. I happened to be there Saturday night and Sunday morning and again on Sunday evening when the police were finishing with the crime scene. I really never truly realized how much is kept from the public in these types of cases until the police decide they want you to know. I feel for the two workers who had to see the body and hope that they are doing okay during this time. Let's let LPD figure out what happened and hope it is resolved quickly.
