Bomb Scare at Amtrak: All Clear

The station is now open to all traffic and the public.

The Amtrak Station is now open again, after bomb-sniffing dogs determined that the bomb scare was just that, and there were no explosives on the Amtrak buses. The all-clear was sounded around 4:35 p.m.

Someone notified the Amtrak Station at 3:11 p.m. today that there was a bomb on an Amtrak bus. Martinez Police cordoned off the station, the tracks were closed to trains, and the station was evacuated. People inside the station, including a group of children on a field trip, were outside while Amtrak police dogs searched the area.

The north side of the parking lot was closed to bus and auto traffic. Trains were held from both directions during the search.
