A small fire at an Antioch home on Thursday led to the discovery of a large-scale pot growing operation and the seizure of 1,100 marijuana plants, police said.

Around 11:50 a.m. Thursday, fire crews were called to a home in the 2300 block of Whitetail Drive on reports of a fire, according to police.

Once on the scene, firefighters found a small electrical fire and quickly extinguished it. Police said no one was home at the time of the fire, but crews found evidence of marijuana cultivation inside the residence.

Investigators who were called to the home found and seized 1,100 pot plants and marijuana growing equipment, police said.

No arrests have been made in connection with the pot grow and an investigation into the operation is ongoing.

Anyone with information about the case is encouraged to call Antioch police Detective Koch at (925) 779-6895.
