This is ridiculous having a child talk about a topic that belongs to adults. What kind of outrage would you generate if you asked kids what they felt about local bars or liquor stores. Furthermore the video is so badly made, the girl looks comes off like an inarticulate mall rat. Patch dropped the ball on this one for sure.

Thanks for your comment. I respectfully disagree - I don't think a 17-year-old is a "child," and I certainly think she's old enough to have an opinion about this and many other subjects.

I agree that a 17 yr old is hardly a child but Miss Macklin is still a minor being asked to comment on a matter that really concerns adults. Cannabis and adults is fine with me. But in my opinion cannabis and minors just is wrong. Now that we are about to get a well regulated dispensary perhaps there will be fewer ad hoc purveyors hanging around the Safeway parking lot selling drugs to minors.

On the last point, I couldn't agree with you more.

Yes. Unfortunately many patients are forced to access their medicine in less than great circumstances, often in a parking lot or from a person who does not care about quality assurance or best practices, or checking for identification. Buying medicine from an illicit source because you do not want to drive to Oakland today is an all too common practice in the area unfortunately for many patents. A well run collective will drive many of these sources out of business.

Victoria Macklin doesn't look like no mall rat so if you don't have anything nice to say don't say it especially if your talking bad about a "child" poeple really need to grow up and act there age. Come on immature people " nicole".

Also its funny how 50 year old women talk about a so called minor ahah jealous people make me laugh.

Depending on where Miss Macklin is in terms of her birthday, in less than 12 months she will be old enough to enlist in and die in the service of our nation. She will also be old enough to vote in the next Presidential election. Our city is undertaking decisions that Miss Macklin and her peers will have to live with, and fix should it come to that, for their's and their children's generations. To suggest her voice or anyone else's voice is without merit simply because their years on the planet haven't earned them the right to speak absolutely flies in the face of our founding documents.

It is time for you to Safeway parking lot and see the drug deals going down at lunch time. Yes she has the right to comment this issue today as it affects the future she will face in years to come. How many of her class mate now have to go continuation school and won't graduate for Alhambra. Check out those number and ask the school teacher about this as a problem. She has her right to express herself.

Paint the railroad trestle that crosses Alhambra. It's an eyesore.
