All the facts....

I don't quite understand why it is that nobody has addressed the issue of homeless v/s health violations in Martinez. People, having the basic needs to survive in society, need more than food. If one is truly homeless that means they have no place to reside which includes available sanitation facilities. To provide someone with food is absolutely wonderful without a doubt, but what about the of the day of their existence. It makes no difference as to why there are some members of our society that are in such desperate needs or who they are. The shame here, and it is a shame, is that not more is done for those that have no choice in life. What really needs to be done is to provide a complete solution. A complete solution must include ample sanitation facilities available for the use of the homeless 24 hours a day and also a place to reside. We can't just feed people and then pat ourselves on the behinds for what we have done then go home and forget about them the rest of the time.  We  have to ask ourselves "what is the end result of what we are doing?". Where would you go to relieve your bodily functions if nothing is available to you? - the creek, the parks or a doorway in town? You have to go somewhere - it's a basic bodily function! I am not being critical of anyone - everyone has bodily needs - I am just stating that we need to think beyond simply the feeding of the needy. Loaves and Fishes provides food but that in itself creates the need for another solution for the safety of our entire community - adequate restrooms facilities - all day and night.
