Obituary: Donald Duane Perryman Was Merchant Marine Vet

The longtime PG&E worker in Martinez served with the Merchant Marine in the Pacific during World War II.

Donald Duane Perryman, a Merchant Marine veteran of World War II, died at the age of 84 in Pleasant Hill, according to an obituary in the Martinez Gazette.

He helped to deliver Marines and then SeaBees in the invasion of Mindanao, the Phillipines. After the war, he worked for many years at the Martinez Power Plant for PG&E.

Among his survivors is of the Beaver Festival in Martinez.
