One Question For The Patch's Jim Carumpuss

Martinez City Council Election

Why is the Patch forbidding City Council Candidate Mike Alford from posting on it?

I note that none of the other Candidates are not censored.

The Patch is censorsing Candidate Alford, and creating an unlevel playing field. It is trying, in it's own shameful way, to unduly influence the Martinez Municipal Elections. Shame on the Patch for that!

This does not smack of censorship, IT IS censorship. It makes one wonder what is the Patch so afraid of? Something Candidate Alford might have to say?

Whether you agree with Alford or not, he has attended some 220 plus City Council Meetings. I challenge Mr. Carumpuss, or any other citizens in this town to match that record!

It's great to be the press, and to be free of censorship. It sucks to be the press, and be a censor!

The Patch and`Carumpuss can't have it both ways!

In the meantime, you are simply nothing but a bunch a hypocrites!

Shame on you!

Mr. Sparacino, While your loyalty and concern for Mr. Alford's ability to express himself is moving, and certainly filled with outraged hyperbole, rest assured that I had nothing to do with the delay in reinstating his ability to post. Yes, as a candidate he will have a fair chance to express his views here, and hopefully he will do so with a modicum of respect and courtesy, and realize that others may not consider him the harbinger of "truth" as he himself certainly does.

It’s not a question of loyalty and concern for Mr. Alford. It is about allowing equal access to this platform to define his point of view on the issues that are of concern to all Martinez residents. Please contact those who are withholding his access. “filled with outraged hyperbole and others may not consider him the harbinger of "truth" as he himself certainly does.” Sound like a prejudgment on any feature comments that he may make?

I was addressing Mr. Sparacino, and his "outraged hyperbole," not Mike's. As to "the truth," Mr. Alford has never been shy about his position that he is the harbinger of "the truth." It is not a prejudgement by any means.

I don't always agree with Mike. But as Voltaire said " I might not agree with what you have to say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it". It's NOT about MIKE. It's about one Candidate being singled out and censored, while all other Candidates are not. This creates an unlevel playing field. And it's not fair. And it's certainly not the American way.

And I agree. And Mike's account has been restored.
