Out and About in Martinez

Grand Opening, Ghost Walk and Cash Mob

Thursday, June 21, at 5:30 pm is the ribbon cutting for Marty O's Pizzeria, 802 Main Street. Grand Opening Celebrations will continue through the weekend with music by GarageLand Rodeo, The Billy Martini Show, Kyle Jester Blues Band, Hopeful Romantics, and Scotty O'Neill.

Friday, June 22, is the first Downtown Martinez Ghost Walk. The guided walking tour takes you to some of Martinez's favorite "haunts" from the past. I have added two photos taken by the old jail near the hanging "spot". The first one has a small "orb" towards the bottom of the photo, the second photo that was taken right after shows that the "orb" has moved on. Guess it didn't want to "hang" around! For reservations: www.mainstreetmartinez.org or you can call: 925.228.3577, price is $25.00 pp.

Saturday, June 23, is the second Downtown Martinez CASH MOB being held at Leah's Closet, 831 Main Street. This program is designed to promote and support our downtown businesses by gathering a group of shoppers that are encouraged to spend at least $20 each. The fun begins at 11:30 am and after shopping the participants will be heading over to Marty O's Pizzeria to celebrate. Please RSVP: 925.228.3577.

Coming Soon: the 4th of July Parade!

Paint the railroad trestle that crosses Alhambra. It's an eyesore.

I agree, but the money is going to other places...whatever they are.
